CLIMATE JUSTICE
As long as the people with the fewest resources are suffering the greatest losses from climate change, a sustainable future will continue to elude us. Climate Justice puts resources in the hands of local people facing climate challenges daily.
Healthy watersheds are the circulatory system of cultures and communities. They provide clean water, food, fiber, timber, shade, habitat, and a life-sustaining pulse for those downstream. Most of the world’s watersheds are overworked, overdrawn, and experiencing severe reductions in potential, supporting less life year after year. TWP works with communities to protect, restore and revive vital watersheds so that they continue to provide sustenance for future generations.
Our Vision
-
Economic Development
Income opportunities and sustainable livelihoods are a key to creating lasting impact on local environments, while accelerating self-sufficiency and community resiliency.
-
Resilient Communities
Local people, especially women, youth, and sovereign Tribal nations, need a permanent seat at the table when decisions are being made about their land, resources, and economic futures.
10,000 Douglas Fir tree seedlings have gone into the ground near the Tent Rocks National Monument on Santo Domingo (Kewa) Pueblo's Tribal Lands; the 3,000 remaining seedlings were taken to the Santa Fe Indian School by Cochiti Tribal members where they will be planted by students and community leaders on nearby public lands.
