Gardening Tips to Grow TWP’s Mission

I’ve been gardening for over 20 years.

As any experienced gardener will tell you, to get great results, plant the right crops for your climate, water and weed regularly, and most importantly, put time into building your soil.

What goes on below ground and behind the scenes is often what determines success. Championship players train relentlessly; Memorable performers rehearse endlessly; and gardeners that grow delicious heirloom tomatoes spend the off-season cultivating soil fertility.

Similarly, organizations that thrive do so because they cultivate their relationships, people, and culture.

Donors support nonprofit organizations like Trees, Water & People because they believe in our mission, and believe in our capacity to change the world for the better. That capacity only comes from a healthy work environment with competitive compensation, good communication, flexibility, and work-life balance.

At TWP we know we can only change the world if we’re an exceptional place to work, that respects our staff, their aspirations, and their ways of being. We pride ourselves in having a diverse team from seven countries and five Tribal Nations, and invest daily in cultivating a fertile work culture that leads to life improvements for people and the planet.

Just like in a garden, the magic at TWP happens below ground and behind the scenes. The way we create impact in the communities we serve is by caring for the people who do the work daily.

What are some of the best places you’ve worked - what did they get right?

Thanks for helping us create an exceptional and durable organization that improves the lives of others.
